Full Day Tour: 8-8.5 hours

Leave no stone unturned!

For the keenest of culture vultures, this full day tour covers far more than can be written in one paragraph 😉 As well as the highlights of the Half Day Tour above a full day affords the chance to explore the medieval city and the remains of it’s 5 metre thick walls around Christchurch, venturing just outside those ancient walls we find Saint Patrick’s Cathedral and the place where the first Irish pagans were baptised in the 5th century. This tour also takes in more of the river with wonderful views of the modern architecture in the 21st century docklands, contrasting the replica of the Jeanie Johnson, the first of the infamous “coffin ships” that left Ireland during the dark days of the Famine. The Georgian splendor of Stephen’s Green and Merrion Square will be revealed and all these stories will come together as we trace the footsteps of the rebels who fought in the 1916 rising from the proclamation to the surrender and what followed. Along the way there is plenty opportunity to stop for coffee, lunch will be arranged in one of Dublin’s best pubs and of course a stop for a pint of Guinness is never a bad option.
